FAQs

What is the difference between Caverject and Caverject Dual Chamber?

Both contain the active ingredient alprostadil, but they differ in their formulation and packaging. The original Caverject comes as a powder with a separate diluent that needs mixing before use, while Caverject Dual Chamber is a prefilled dual-chamber syringe system, simplifying the preparation process.

Are the administration methods of Caverject and Caverject Dual Chamber the same?

Yes, both versions are injected directly into the penis following the specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider. However, the preparation process may differ between the two.

Can I switch between Caverject and Caverject Dual Chamber without consulting a doctor?

You can switch between the two, but you must consult your doctor (or us) if you are considering doing so. While both versions contain the same active ingredient, they may have different preparations, which could require a change in your injection procedure or dosage. If you are unsure, please get in touch with us.

Does Caverject have the same side effects as Caverject Dual Chamber?

Yes, since both Caverject and Caverject Dual Chamber contain the same active ingredient, alprostadil, the potential side effects are similar. These can include penile pain, prolonged erections, or in rare cases, priapism.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Caverject?

Caverject is typically used as needed, so you're unlikely to be on a dosing schedule. If you’re advised to use it regularly and miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. However, never use a double dose to make up for a missed one. Remember, it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional for advice and guidance regarding the use of Caverject Injection 10mcg or 20mcg, or any other medication. As always, if side effects concern you or you need more information, please get in touch with us.
